Health plans and employers in general continually struggle to control
health care costs. Over the past several years, many plans have turned to
disease management and wellness programs (collectively,"DM
Programs") to control health care costs. However, the legal aspects
of DM Programs are frequently not fully appreciated when a DM Program is
implemented. This article provides an overview of the legal issues
associated with a DM Program.
