The decision to discharge an employee should be made only after careful reflection. Yes, I understand there are circumstances where the misconduct is so significant that immediate termination is warranted.  Those instances tend to be the exception rather than the rule. In most cases, the employer is aware that things are just not working out, but is either distracted with more pressing issues or just does not want to address the problem.The purpose of this Blog post is to review some areas for consideration  before the decision to discharge is made.
